Treehouse Montessori School offers engaging educational programs for pre-school students at all levels.

Ladybug class - for students 1 to 4 years old.

The Ladybug program helps young children make the transition from the parents' nest to the outside world.

The children are given plenty of one-on-one time with the teaching staff, but are also encouraged to be independent and self-sufficient in the classroom.

Hand-eye coordination and motor skills are a main focus at this level.

Hand-eye coordination and motor skills are a main focus at this level.

In the structured environment of the Montessori classroom, children will learn the following skills:

• respecting others

• taking turns

• asking for help when needed

• eating independently

• manipulating small tools such as forks, spoons and chopsticks

• toilet training and autonomy in the bathroom

Ladybug students explore materials at their own pace.

All activities are conducted with materials scaled down to the children's size and ability level, letting them develop hand-eye-coordination and confidence in their bodies. The items around the classroom are designed to promote physical and cognitive growth, and the ability for the children to choose their activity encourages free will and creative thinking from an early age.

The Bluebird program builds on the basic Montessori structure to emphasize the following:

• critical thinking

• problem solving

• communicating wants and needs

• maintaining harmonious relationships

• respecting differences

• self-esteem

• self-discipline

Bluebird classes prepare children for first grade.

Bluebird classes prepare children for first grade.

The classroom is outfitted with child-sized tables and chairs with numerous materials on the surrounding shelves. These materials are designed to develop the children's curiosity and confidence across a broad spectrum. This includes practical skills such as sorting and fine motor skills, sensory stimulation, mathematics, language, music, and culture.

The Bluebird Montessori environment has both structure and freedom. Unlike traditional education systems where students are dictated to and forced down pre-set paths, the Montessori children choose from the well-planned options and follow their own interests. This fosters their inner-motivation, discipline and independence. Countless public sector studies have shown that students learning with the Montessori method surpass their peers in testing and academic performance.

Having a blast in the Treehouse pool!

Treehouse summer program is one of the most popular courses offered since its opening in 2001.  The children will enjoy the giant pool set in our backyard while in our front yard, children can have water play and splash in the smaller pool.

This program is broken down into weekly themes that shape the week's activities and events. Weekly theme, cooking and age appropriate arts and crafts are planned for the children.

Our summer program is unique in that it is open to non-semester students and anybody from the age 3 through 9 years of age can join us as early as the first week of June.  This is a great opportunity to experience our school and the Montessori philosophy.
