With summer quickly approaching and the weeds coming up faster than ever, we decided it was time to fix up the little patch of ground on the side of the school!

Before

The side had gotten a bit overrun with weeds and the children weren't able to enjoy the space.

Pulling weeds

The first step was to pull up the weeds. Dandelions, clover, so many kinds of tricky plants!

Leveling the Ground

After the weeds were cleared, we did our best to make the ground smooth.

Laying down Landscape Fabric

This landscape fabric will be a good base for the new patio and keep the weeds down in the future. Much better than spraying with chemicals!

Laying down Tile

We put outdoor tiling down in a fun pattern for the children to explore.

Adding Stones

We filled in blank spaces with beautiful multicolored stones for a Japanese touch.

After!

The final product! Now the school can enjoy this quiet, sunny space next to their school!

We'll continue to improve the garden and the Treehouse school environment as we go. When you see the children's happy faces it makes it all worth it!
